Join our dynamic team at EnactOn as a WordPress Developer, working directly with one of our esteemed business partners & clients in the US.
This remote position offers a unique opportunity to engage closely with our client’s initiatives, aligning with their timezone (GMT-5) (~10.5h behind India time) for seamless collaboration.
You will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress plugins and theme customization.
We expect you to have a strong understanding of the latest industry trends, content management systems, and basic SEO optimization.
As well as being able to work collaboratively and effortlessly with our team of designers and creatives to help bring their concepts and ideas to life.
Plus, working as a team to present ideas and website design concepts to our valuable clients.
Key Responsibilities as a WordPress Developer
- Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and plugin.
- Develop and maintain WordPress websites, including creating new websites and new landing pages on existing websites.
- Implementation of event and goal tracking for various user actions using Google Tag Manager and Posthog events.
- Enhance existing websites to improve user experience, SEO compatibility, and page speed.
- Work with WP Bakery, Elementor, or Kadence Block Builders, with a preference for experience in Kadence.
- Optimize website elements for Google Page Speed, aiming for scores above 90 to 95.
- Establishing and guiding each new website’s architecture
- Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in WordPress development.
- Troubleshoot and fix website issues.
- Assure HTML, CSS, and shared JavaScript is valid and homogeneous across web applications
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of our internal development tools and processes.
- Implementation of modern and trendy UI/UX on WordPress-based marketing websites.
Required Skills
- Sound understanding of WordPress Themes and Plugins
- Proven experience with WordPress for custom theme development, customization in header, footer, database, etc.
- Proficiency with various WordPress plugins like WP Rocket, SEO Press, and Advanced Custom Post Types.
- Strong understanding of web technologies including CSS, HTML, Bootstrap, JavaScript, jQuery, and WordPress database structures.
- Experience with event tracking, Google Tech Manager, various form builders, and custom development.
- Must have a high-quality home office setup with robust internet, video calling capabilities, and a professional background for video calls.
- Strong knowledge of PHP and WordPress CMS.
- Able to create a theme from scratch
